A Guide To Planning A Winter Wedding
A Guide To Planning A Winter Wedding
Winter weddings don’t happen often because of the weather. Most couples tie the knot during warmer months. However, there’s something romantic about having a wedding during the winter. It just feels like something out of a fairytale.
Book the Venue Early
It’s no secret that finding a wedding venue a few days before the wedding can be tricky. Good wedding venues will always be in high demand regardless of whether it’s the peak or off-season. To have your dream wedding where you want it to be, you should book the venue months in advance.
Also, confirm the guest list because people are usually busy during the winter. Most people are either attending office parties or traveling to be with their loved ones. One month before the big event, call everyone to confirm their attendance. You can save some money by trimming down your guest list.
Your Team has to ‘Dress’ for the Season
Winters are very chilly and you should watch what you wear. Have the bridesmaids and groomsmen put on warm stylish clothes. For example, your bridesmaids can wear long-sleeved dresses to protect their arms and shoulders.
As for the groomsmen, you can have them wear wool jackets or sweater vests. The look should be both functional and stylish.
Choose the Right Venue
The venue will determine the overall feel of the event. A good venue is an old castle. It’s big, cozy, and comfy. Your guests will feel right at home as they protect themselves from the harsh winter temperatures.
Even though most of the wedding is going to happen indoors, choose a venue with great outdoors for wedding pictures.
Set the Tables Well
Winter weddings are all about warmth and festivities. A great way to show that is to set the reception tables well. Use scented candles that have different heights. Add flowers. Have the card place holders written in a clear font so that everyone can see where they’re supposed to sit.
Choose Warm Colors
Your bridesmaids and groomsmen should wear warm-colored clothes to create a mellow feeling. The men don’t have to wear warm colors all through because it will look weird. They can mix both cool and warm tones.
Other areas where you can incorporate the warm colors are table linens and accessories. Examples of warm colors perfect for winter weddings are burgundy, gold, and amber.
Visit Wedding Venues at Night
During winter, days are short and nights are long. Therefore, it’s highly likely that your wedding will happen when it’s dark. Pick a venue that’s well-lit and comforting at night. To do that effectively, visit potential venues at night to see how they look.
Pick a Warm Venue
Ask the venue management if they have enough resources to keep guests warm. Find out if they have a working HVAC system. Visit the venue a few weeks before the event to get a feel of how it is. Ask the venue management to turn on the heater. Walk around to find out if there are places you'll experience drafts and cold winds.
If the venue feels cold in some areas, ask your guests to come with more protective clothing.
Wear Protective Clothing
Temperatures can get really low during the winter; therefore, it’s best to keep warm. You can wear extra clothes underneath your tuxedo or dress to keep warm.
Give your Guests Warm Drinks
To survive the cold weather, give guests warm drinks such as mulled wine or winter Pimms. Since not all guests drink wine, have the caterers prepare warm tea or coffee.
Minimize Movement
The roads can get slippery and very dangerous during winter; therefore, it’s best if you use one venue for everything. It should have accommodation, a restaurant, and a nice backdrop. That way, you can use the venue for the entire event.
Nobody has to go anywhere until the event is finished.

How to Find the Perfect Wedding Photographer
How to Find the Perfect Wedding Photographer
Finding the correct wedding photographer for your special occasion can be a daunting process that requires time and effort. However, we help shorten the process with our list of six tips to help you land the perfect wedding photographer to suit all your photographic needs.
1. Decide on the Theme of Your Photographs
Before the search, it is advisable to come up with your preferred theme for your wedding photography. This will point you in the right direction when scouring for ideal photographers; not all can deliver your standards. If you're looking for outstanding and fun wedding shots to post on your social media, a photographer who takes formal photos might not be the right candidate of choice. Take some time perusing through blogs and Instagram to find the right wedding photography theme that resonates with you. You don't always have to narrow it down to one particular style. You can also blend in various pieces, such as contrasting and sharp shots. Always ensure to be open about your desired wedding photo style. This will save you time when shortlisting capable photographers.
2. Ask for Referrals
Getting the referrals of your family and friends is one way of finding a decent photographer. Chances are, your relatives might have previously hired one. Their feedback can give you a faint idea of the professional you'll be dealing with in the future. More so, social media is also an ideal platform to aid your search. Consider using Facebook and Instagram, and browse through accounts and hashtags of local wedding photographers. You can also decide to hire a wedding planner and have them organize a decent photographer for your reception. You can also go to a Wedding Fayre or join an online Wedding Fayre.
3. Interview Different Wedding Photographers
First impressions can make a difference in the quality of work you'll receive. Aside from viewing portfolios, setting up meetings with potential wedding photographers should be considered a priority. This will give an overall impression of who you'll be entrusting to take your wedding photos. A lazy and unkempt photographer is more likely to produce disappointing results than a neat and energetic one. During your special occasion, the last thing you'd want is to hire someone who drains the energy within the room. Therefore, consider setting up meetings with different photographers, and see which one you like best.
4. Carry Out Your Research
After receiving several recommendations and shortlisting individuals through interviews, you're bound to settle on a list of capable wedding photographers. However, you need to carry out your research and determine which of the few is tailored to suit your needs. The first step is to peruse through their online testimonials. Through this, you can assess their level of professionalism and work. You can directly contact past clients for detailed insight into the job done and if they're satisfied with the results. Furthermore, through their blogs or social media accounts, you can analyze their content to see if it's similar to what you're expecting. You can also determine their strengths and weaknesses by judging the angles, lighting, and tonality in the candid shots uploaded on their feed.
5. Ask to See Wedding Albums
Not all photographers will upload all their work onto their social media accounts. Instead, ask to see their gallery and albums. Also, some of the pictures seen online are composed of their best work only. You will hardly see any second-grade work on the profile of a professional wedding photographer. However, as a client, you'd want to get permission to assess their gallery. Seeing their raw and natural album photos can give detailed insight into their skill and professionalism level. More so, you can also highlight the wedding photos that you like and ask them to retake a similar shot at your wedding. This will make it easier to portray your ideas visually and even spark some new ones.
6. Compare Offers and Package Deals
Part of finding the right wedding photographer includes discovering services that are well adjusted to your budget. Therefore, by creating a budget and sticking to it, you're able to settle for decent photographers that you afford. Take some time to compare deals and packages. Some may offer exclusive discounts during low seasons while others may provide bundled deals, covering everything from shooting fees, printing, and labor costs. Also, you need to consider if their prices include full coverage for large scale wedding receptions or limited to a selected number of guests. By understanding the costs and services involved, you're able to avoid spending extra or investing in a service that doesn't fully cover your wedding.

Your preparing for your big day and you have your venue booked, your wedding theme is chosen and your guests have received the save the dates! Now is the time to think about how you will arrive in style to your big day!
Who requires transportation?
Traditionally the bride and groom will get ready separately on the morning of your wedding! As with any important event or wedding, the essential persons will require transport to the ceremony! Usually, the bride and father of the bride traveling to the ceremony together and they are last to arrive. The bride’s mother, maid of honor and bridesmaids usually travel together and the groom and best man arrive separately too!
Some couples will hire transport for their wedding guests if the wedding ceremony and reception may be far away, for example minibusses or coaches.
Depending on the type of wedding venue and wedding theme you have chosen will reflect on your mode of transport! Remember Wedding Transportation is not only about the last journey before you get wed but also a huge part of your wedding photographs!
Here are our top must-have wedding transportation to match your wedding theme!
Vintage Wedding Theme
Feel special arriving at your wedding in a head-turning, unusual but stunning 1930's style Beauford! Perfect for a Vintage Themed Wedding these cars are one of a king so enjoy being chauffeur driven in style by a driver who will look after you and guide you to keep your nurves at bay in a car that you would not normally use!
The style of the car, should reflect your wedding theme of your wedding day. Think about how the car will look in the photos, eg, a period style 1930`s car looks great outside West tower. Your wedding photographer will use the car as a prop in the scene in your wedding photos perfect to enhance the setting. 3.
Our cars are quite unusual as there are only a limited number made so and they are rare to see day today! So you really will feel like royalty being driven to and from your wedding!
Look very period, so great outside most churches and venues.
Regal Wedding Cars Top Tip!
Before asking for a price, know what you want the car company to do. If they show unwllingness or pushing you to do something different, ask why. It might be you are expecting to do too much. AND, go and see the cars, sit in them, understand how you are going to get in and out of the car with your wedding dress dress on!
Jurassic Park Wedding Theme
The Jurassic Park Jeep is just so different, everyone has a traditional car and this offers something unique. Plus the film was released in the early 90’s, so for a lot of people getting married now Jurassic Park is a film from their childhood.
Not to mention it is a car featured in one of the most icon film car chases ever! The little Jeep Wranger being chased by a T,Rex. All we have missing is a topless Jeff Goldblum!!
The car has been booked by couples of all ages and with all wedding themes. Its been to weddings held at stately homes and its also been to more bohemian style venues. Jurassic Park has a almost cult following, and if you are one of these fans then this car has to be apart of your wedding day.
The Jeep Wrangler YJ was manufactured in 90’s, primarily for the US market. So there isn’t that many early 90’s Jeeps on the road in the UK. When you then consider this one is dedicated to one of the most iconic films from the 90’s that makes it pretty unique.
The attention to detail in this car is immense, it has license plates and passes onboard allowing access to Isla Nublar site and it number 18 of the fleet. All of which will mean something to the die-hard fans!
Keyhole Motors Top Tip!
There is so much to do when it comes to planning a wedding and I think one of the most important elements that sometimes gets forgotten is that the planning should be enjoyable! Never feel any pressure when booking services, we always encourage our potential customers to come along to our studio, meet the team, view the products. This way you can make a decision if the item is right for you, no pressure, just take your time and enjoy the process!
Wedding cars are usually booked for a set period of time, this is something that’s worth bearing in mind when booking a vehicle. How long do you have it for… This is important to plan your photographs and coordination of the wedding, especially so if you are getting married at a church. After the ceremony will your wedding photographs take place at the church or at the venue? If at the church ensure there is enough time with the wedding cars. We are always flexible with this as we understand things take as long as they take, but it’s always useful for the drivers to know in advance, mainly so they can calculate what size coffee flask to bring and how many sandwiches are required for the wait!

The Fleur-De-Lys Landaulet is the perfect wedding car for your special occasion. Seating seven comfortably, step back in time to the stylish 1920s with this beautiful Edwardian style car which would not be out of place in Downtown Abbey.

FESTIVAL WEDDING THEME BRIDAL MAKE UP - By Andrea Baines
Festival Bridal / Male Festival bridal looks have steadily been growing as a major trend. With looks ranging from bohemian to bonkers this look is all about being a free spirit and celebrating your unique style. Festival style wedding receptions are trending with tipis, floral explosions and plenty of colour. Think of the mix of styles and glastonbury from the relaxed hippie to the bold and brave - this look can embody it all
Who would suit this look?
Brides that would suit this look would be those who want to make a statement and have a unique wedding full of fun. If you're a festival lover, nature lover, consider yourself quirky or adventurous, this look could be for you.
Makeup Styling and Techniques!
The make up for this look is all about fresh youthful skin with a lit from within glow. Nothing too heavy. Blushed cheeks maintain the youthful summery vibe. Pops of colour which can be as subtle or as full on as you like. In the picture above I've used sunset colours - burnt oranges and yellows to pull the whole look together with the flowers and dress.
I would say this look is about experimenting and allowing yourself to think outside the typical bridal styles. For inspiration turn to pinterest and blogs such as Festival Brides. Flowers are key components in this style and a floral crown is a great way to elevate your look.
Top Tip to achieve the Festival Look!
Finding the right suppliers will help the process of planning a festival style wedding more fun. You need photographers with a less traditional style of shooting who will fully get in to the festival spirit. A venue that is relaxed and less formal. And definitely a make up artist who is skilled at a fresh take on make up.

TIMELESS ELEGANCE BRIDAL MAKE UP - By Andrea Baines
This look above is going nowhere. Elegance will never go out of fashion. Whether you follow a traditional style of elegance or have a modern take on it, this look is classy and oozes sophistication.
Who would suit this look?
The type of bride who would suit this look is someone who likes to keep things simple but perfectly executed. A bride who wants to look like the best version of herself, perfectly polished. If your wedding is classic, chic or modern luxe this could be the look for you.
Makeup Styling and Techniques!
This make up is about building thin layers to achieve a flawless coverage. A classic smokey eye with a perfect flick. In the picture I've used a punchy colour on the lip to keep the look modern. The hair is styled with classic waves and beautifully designed hair accessories.
Top Tip about this timeless Elegance look!
This look is timeless and will not date, when looking back on wedding photos you will not be able pinpoint the period in which the wedding took place only that it looked stunning and still stands the test of time.

VINTAGE BRIDAL MAKE UP - by Andrea Baines
This look is all about pulling influences from looks from previous decades. The most loved and recreated looks are those from the 20s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Each of those periods of time have very distinct looks that transport you in to a different world and offer a romantic take on the past.
Who would suit this look?
The bride that would suit this look is one who adores fashion from gone by eras and revels in the romance of old school glamour. If you are fan of old movies, Hollywood starlets and making a dramatic statement this look could be for you.
Makeup Styling and Techniques!
In the picture I have taken elements from a classic 20s look with dark eye makeup and a crimson red lip. I've also incorporated some 50s styling with the addition of a heavy flick. This combined with a beautiful vintage style dress and hairstyle produce a jaw dropping look.
Top Tip to achieve a Vintage Bridal look!
To pull off this look successfully you have to be respectful to the era you are emulating without looking like it is fancy dress. Little touches like vintage rings and a venue with a vintage feel will pull the look together and make for a stylish affair.

ROCK N ROLL BRIDAL - By Andrea Baines
This look is all about being a rebel! Rock n Roll style has increased in popularity as more and more brides are throwing away the rule books and having their day their way. This look is about baring all tattoos or wearing leather boots with your wedding dress (if indeed you choose a dress!). Edgy and sassy, this style is hard to miss.
Who would suit this look?
The type of bride who would suit this look is someone who likes to stand out from the crowd. The type of bride who doesn't kneel to tradition and wants to have a wedding that leaves an impression. Whether you're a full on rocker or a fan of a rockabilly style, this look could be for you.
Makeup Styling and Techniques!
In the pic the style is very 50s rockabilly with a retro dress. For make up I followed the 50s influence and used a heavy flick on the eye and a true red lip. Hair was styled with volume and a full fringe bringing some 60s vibes in to the mix.
Top Tip to achieve a Rock N Roll Bridal look!
This look is all about non traditional statements, the addition of a leather jacket, a hair band rather than a veil, boots rather than a shoe. Add in a groom in a velvet suit, dickie now and a cool backdrop and you will have wedding pictures that will knock your socks off!

Next up is Bridal Makeup by Elizabeth Elsie….
EDITORIAL, MODERN BRIDAL MAKE UP - By Elizabeth Elsie
The above look was created when I designed a concept for the leading Makeup Academy in Asia. I flew to India whilst living in Bangkok to shoot with India's top photographers @vijaypowarphotography.
Who would suit this look?
This is an editoral look however, I feel a red lip is being worn more and more by brides these days and is such a strong statement, many rock and roll, bohemian and vintage style brides are complete with a red lip.
Top Tip to achieve the perfect Red Lip!
One of my top tips for brides wearing a red lip would be to pop some clear setting powder over the top and set with a setting spray seal in the powder, this will make it kiss proof!
INDIAN BRIDAL MAKE UP - By Elizabeth Elsie
I adore Asian Bridal Makeup and of course the weddings are so much fun to be part of; the music, the colours and of course the food.
A traditional Indian wedding lasts an average of three days, sometimes they can go on longer. The makeup usually ties in with the Sari worn, with the bride choosing contrasting or harmonising colours.
Makeup Styling and Techniques!
Indian Bridal makeup is usually more intense with more brighter colours used, there is alot of jewellery and accessories which also complement the look.
Top Tip to the perfect bridal look!
For any fuller makeup look great skin prep leading up to the ceremony and on the day also is very important so the makeup looks beautiful and not cakey.
NATURAL BEAUTY BRIDAL MAKE UP - By Elizabeth Elsie
Fresh and natural makeup is a timeless classic for many brides. This look is perfect as it enhances the best features of every bride. Sometimes the natural look can be one of the hardest looks to do as it's so easy to go over board with makeup. When a bride had their picture taken these days the professional camera can pick up on everything so it needs to look perfectly natural on pictures but also be able to last all day.
Top Tip for watery eyes!
If your eyes have the tenancy to water then a little bit of Vaseline or natural ingredient lip balm just inside the water line can help to stop watery eyes ans allow the eye makeup to stay in place all day.
10 bridal hair pieces and accessories to rock straight out of lockdown!
It’s been a tough year so far with lockdown, but don’t be fooled it's not forever; and let’s be honest we’ve got a wedding to plan! To make things a little easier for you, we’ve picked our 10 favourite bridal hair pieces that we think will totally rock your ‘lock-down’ world! What ever your bridal ‘look’ we have a bridal accessory to match!
The 1920’s Bridal Theme - You will love Clarissa bridal hair accessory!
First up, is Rocks for Frocks, giving you the most classic 1920’s drape.
1920’s is a huge wedding trend in 2020 and this headpiece is a long standing favourite with our brides. The headpiece features vintage style pieces with tiny swarovski stones, crystal chain, freshwater pearl drapes with pearl drops at the side. The piece is a headband but Rock for Frocks make it look like it is a comb by covering the headband in silk the same as the hair colour.
The Clarissa with pearls is popular as it gives an instant vintage feel, even if the wedding dress isn’t a vintage style, just adding this piece immediately brings in the feel of a 20s/30/s bridal. It is quite popular when the bride has a vintage style wedding venue too. There are also wedding dresses with drapes and rows of pearls and crystals at the back and this adds to the look by putting some interest to the front.
2. The Vintage or Bohemian Bride
The second picture shows the draped piece at the rear is the Roses triple drape.
Again a firm favourite with our vintage brides. In this photo Rock for Frocks have added single roses around the front of the braid. The main piece is 3 vintage style roses with drapes of swarovski pearls and crystals, with chains added.
This piece is great for boho styling and can be worn with hair up or down, it looks great with both. Although it is a boho piece it has a little bit of glam with the swarovski crystals in the roses which twinkle in the light. It is a great alternative to fresh flowers and adds that instant wow factor to the back of the bride.
Tips from Rocks for Frocks
“For a bride, the head, hair and makeup is in everything! Look at your dress and imagine yourself in it, what else would you like to see?
Most of your photos will be from the front so if your hair accessory is important to you, make sure it can be seen from the side or front. If you go for something at the back, make it a good something, make it worthwhile having in your hair.
If your dress has a lot of back detail, then you’re going to add a veil and a complicated updo, switch it up and put something of interest at the front. By the same rule, if there’s a lot going on at the front and the back is a bit plain, put something amazing at the back so whichever way you turn, there is something to see. It's all a balancing act”.
Contact gail@rocksforfrocks.co.uk for more information on how to purchase one of these beautiful pieces.
3. Celestial Themed Wedding or The Modern Bride!
Next up, the incredible Rachel Chaprunne! Want to feel like a queen for the day? We’ve got your back! Perfect modern bridal design, with a traditional twist.
The Carina crown is perfect for brides looking for a modern statement headpiece. Intricately hand wired Swarovski beads and crystals give this headpiece a dreamy vibe and the starbursts additions are perfect for a celestial wedding (option available without stars). This uniquely beautiful crown can be made in silver or gold and can also be customised with Swarovski crystal colours.
Tips from Rachel Chaprunne
“When you are choosing your perfect headpiece I would recommend bringing together all of your wedding elements, your dress, hairstyle, theme and style and 'marry' them into the design. I often create designs around a detail from a beautiful dress, whether it be lots of pearls or crystals or a bold crown for a bride who really wants to make a statement”.

5. Ouse Timeless Elegance in Rose Gold from Cassie M!
Rose gold halo crown – “Amelia” an absolutely stunning comb mixed with seed pearl and crystals on a flexible wiring, would be the perfect fit for a chignon or vintage-inspired curly up do. With the Amelia being so breath-taking it would suit an understated classic dress too!
Tips from Cassi M
The advice Cassie would give to brides is, when picking accessories is to choose something you love! Most hairstyles can be adapted to suit hair accessories so always go for the first choice and the one you fall in love with!

Next up is bridal fashion accessories from Inna Walker Headpieces! Inna chats to use about her experience in bridal accessories fashions!
‘’In recent years bridal fashion has become so versatile. Brides are not limited to hair combs with a veil attached at the back any more. There are so many other options out there such as floral romantic headbands, metal finish hair accessories encrusted with diamond-cut high quality crystals, explosive feather compositions, face veils, tiaras, mini hats and fascinators and beautiful handmade silk flower bouquets. What you choose for your big day is determined not only by what’s available in bridal shops, but what many independent craftsmen offer these days through social media so your choices are limitless.’’
6. Effortless Chic or Vintage Elegance - Headbands have made a huge come back!
Today, I’d like to mention Headbands have made a huge come back into fashion and they are here to stay! I’ve met brides who were not sure how to style a headband, but once they tried them on they just stayed there!
Bridal Headbands can adorn every bride with vintage elegance or effortless chic. They could be enchanting floral, classic pearls and sparkling crystal designs. I find them a perfect hair accessory that goes well for short or long hair, loose curls or a chic up-do. They are just unique!
On the image above, there’s one of my stylish bridal headbands, “Amelia”, handmade using highest quality french lace and studded with genuine Swarovski crystals that will complete any bridal look to perfection. It’s lightweight and so easy to wear and so wearable after your big day too (Christening for instance?!)
7. Feminine, Romantic, Elegant Bridal - Floral Bandeaus with Birdcage Veils!
Floral bandeaus with birdcage veils are also a popular choice which can create a feminine, romantic, elegant bridal look. The one I have on the image above is my ivory silk and organza bandeau with a veil and it’s such a harmonious combination with this lace wedding gown. In this style we went for a traditional bridal look and this is a match made in heaven, but this hairpiece goes well with a simplistic style dress as well playing a main focus in a bridal look.
8. Elegant Quirky White Wedding!
Betty is an elegant white silk double bow Bridal Headband. Perfect for the more quirky bride who wants a statement playful piece!
Tips From Inna Walker!
My advice is be careful when matching your hairpiece and your dress so that one supplements the other and I suggest you choose your wedding gown first. With simple style dresses when your main fabric is a plain luxurious silk or satin you can go big on your hairpiece as your dress design will not clash with your hair accessory. Face birdcage veils, big floral composition, tiaras, shimmering hair jewellery - try as many options as you can.
It’s important that you look fabulous on your wedding day and accessories can play a key part in achieving that perfect bridal look. Choosing accessories that don’t upstage your look can be tricky but at InnaWalkerHairpieces I have a wide range of handmade hair accessories to help you create a perfect look and if you’re unsure about your choices you can always DM me for advice.

It's a beautiful cherry on top which can later on be treasured for many years to come as a family heirloom.

MORE GREAT WEDDING PLANNING TIPS!
How to make your small wedding the perfect intimate day
Please note as of 5th November Weddings are not aloud to take place. Please keep an eye on the government website for guidelines of when weddings can take place.
How to make your small wedding the perfect intimate day
Is that the sound of wedding bells in the air? Wedding ceremonies with up to 15 people can still go ahead in most parts of the UK. Here, Jack Jahan, from Ramsdens Jewellery, shares some tips for making a small, intimate celebration as magical as possible.
Under the current coronavirus restrictions, couples in England can marry in a ceremony with up to 15 attendees, as long as it's held in a COVID-19 secure venue that accommodates social distancing. So, while big wedding receptions are off the cards for at least a while longer, you can still have a magical ceremony with all your nearest and dearest, assuming there's no local lockdown in force in your area.
When done right, a smaller wedding can be just as special as a big bash. Fewer guests makes planning much easier, and also means you can spend more per head, allowing you to increase your budget when it comes to dining, décor, and venue hire. So, while you may not be able to invite every casual colleague or third cousin anymore, there are plenty of other advantages to having a smaller ceremony. Here, I'll share some tips for making sure your intimate wedding is perfect in every way.
Choose a quirky, meaningful venue
Having a smaller wedding means you can afford to be more creative in your choice of venue — you won't be limited to the usual large hotels and stately houses. With a guest list of 15 people or less, you can consider saying your vows in all sorts of quaint venues, including cute boutique hotels, manor houses, private rooms in restaurants and pubs, and even galleries, libraries and cinemas. So, you can make your day more unique by hosting the ceremony in an unusual venue that speaks to your individual taste and personalities as a couple.
Just remember that your chosen venue will need to be large enough to allow your guests to social distance during the ceremony, so everyone stays safe. Your venue should be able to advise on how they'll accommodate you when you visit for a tour.
Go all out with your wedding outfits
While you might be limited in terms of how many guests you can invite, that doesn’t mean you can't still go all-out when it comes to your wedding outfit. What you wear on your wedding day is all about feeling your best — it doesn't matter whether 100 guests will see your outfit, or only 10. So, don't be afraid to splash out on the look of your dreams. If you've always wanted to wear a full-length veil, a dress with a long train, or a glittering tiara, then go for it!
Give your bridal party some meaningful gifts
Your bridal party has been there for you through thick and thin — and it’s safe to say that there have been more than a few tough moments this year, especially if you've already had to postpone your ceremony because of COVID-19. So, why not express your gratitude and appreciation with a symbolic gift? Jewellery is always a wonderful gift for your bridal party, because they can wear it on your wedding day. Plus, it’s something they can treasure for years to come. Just be sure to pick metals and gemstones that will complement their dresses and hairstyles.
For your maid of honour, you might want to pick something a little more special, like a matching earrings, bracelet and necklace set. If your budget allows, you could also give some symbolic jewellery to your family members — pearls make a lovely present for the mother (or mother-in-law) of the bride.
Don't assume these presents are just for the ladies, either — you could also show your appreciation to your best man by presenting him with a watch. To make the moment extra special, you could even have it engraved.
Splash your budget on some creative transport for your guests
With a bigger wedding, the guests are usually expected to arrange their own transport to and from the venue. But, with a smaller wedding, you can afford to make the guest experience even more fun by providing some cool transport. Not only does this get your day off the great start, but it can also bring another quirky, individual touch to your wedding.
Classic and vintage cars are a popular choice for many couples, but you can also think outside the box with tuk-tuks, canal boats, or even vintage London buses. Your guests are sure to love it, and it will look great in your photos, too.
With some creative touches and careful planning, a smaller wedding can be every bit as magical as a big one. Please note that the information in this article is intended as a guide and the information is subject to change, so you should always check the government COVID-19 hub for the latest updates before making any decisions.
